Da Nang to Hoi An is the single most-booked transfer in central Vietnam. Nearly every international traveler who flies to Da Nang (DAD) is heading to Hoi An's UNESCO Ancient Town — 30 km south along the coast. The journey takes 45 minutes in good traffic, 60 minutes during rush hour (7-9 AM, 4-6 PM).
There are three route options: the coastal road via Truong Sa Street + My Khe beach (longest, most scenic, adds 15 min), the highway via Vo Chi Cong + Bac Vong Bridge (fastest, mostly 4-lane), and the inland road via QL1A (shortest distance but often congested with trucks). Most drivers default to the highway option; the coastal route is popular with photographers and travelers not in a rush.
The return trip is equally popular — Hoi An hotels back to DAD airport for departure flights. We pre-position drivers near Hoi An 30 minutes before scheduled pickup to ensure on-time arrivals for early-morning flights.
