Rocket Car Rentals is committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with Vietnam's Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on Personal Data Protection.
1. Data Controller
Rocket Car Rentals acts as the Data Controller. We are responsible for the collection and processing of your personal data.
2. Data We Collect
By using our services, you consent to the collection of:
• Basic Data: Full name, contact details (email, phone).
• Sensitive Data: Driver's License details, Passport/ID Card copies (for verification), and Geolocation data (GPS).
NOTE: If you choose the 'Hold Passport' deposit method, we will securely retain your physical passport for the duration of the rental.
3. Purpose of Processing
We process your data to:
• Execute the car rental contract.
• Verify driver eligibility and identity.
• Process security deposits and rental payments.
• Comply with Vietnam's transport and tax laws.
4. GPS Tracking & Telematics
NOTICE: All vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking devices for fleet security and management. By renting a vehicle, you explicitly consent to the collection and monitoring of the vehicle's location during the rental period. This data is used solely for vehicle recovery and contract enforcement.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We may share data with:
• Insurance providers (for claims).
• Public authorities (Traffic Police/Ministry of Transport) upon legal request for traffic violations or criminal investigations.
6. Data Retention
Contractual records are retained for 3 years for tax/audit purposes. Sensitive ID copies are deleted 90 days after rental completion unless required for unresolved disputes.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete your data, or withdraw consent. Contact us at info@rocketcarrentalsvietnam.com to exercise these rights.
8. Third-Party Platforms
When you communicate with us via third-party platforms (Zalo, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, Telegram), your data is also processed by these providers in accordance with their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their terms.
9. Your Customer Account
When you complete a booking we use the email address you provide to create a customer account for you, or to connect the booking to an account that already exists on that address. This is how you can sign in later to view your bookings, see what has been paid and what is still due, and pay an outstanding booking yourself without contacting us. There is no password: you sign in with a single-use link sent to that address, or with Google.
We use your email and phone number to run your rental — booking confirmation, payment and refund notices, and urgent contact about pickup, return or the vehicle. These are transactional messages and are not marketing. We do not add you to any marketing list as a result of booking; any marketing consent is asked for separately and can be withdrawn at any time without affecting your booking.
Entering an email address at checkout does not by itself give anyone access to the account on that address. Access always requires proving control of the mailbox (the sign-in link) or signing in with Google.
