2. Driver Eligibility & Documents

Renters must be at least 21 years old. A valid original driving license held for at least 1 year is required. An additional driver must meet the same requirements as the main driver and must be present with their original licence at vehicle handover. Only drivers named on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.

Mileage Policy

Each rental includes 300 km per day. Distance driven beyond the included allowance is charged at 5,000 VND per kilometre. The allowance and the excess rate that apply to your vehicle are shown when you book and are stated in your rental agreement.

EV Charging Policy

We deliver your Electric Vehicle with 100% charge so you can start your journey worry-free. Please return the vehicle with a reasonable charge level (above 20%) to avoid additional fees, or simply pay a recharge fee for convenience.

3. Booking & Payment

A valid credit card in the main driver's name is required for booking. We accept Visa, Mastercard and JCB.

4. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of USD 500 – USD 1,000 is collected before or at vehicle handover; the exact amount for your vehicle is shown when you book. Deposits are quoted in USD and charged in Vietnamese Dong at the prevailing rate. You may pay it in cash or by card at pickup, or pay it online through our Appotapay payment gateway. The full deposit is returned to you within 7 days after the vehicle is returned, provided no damage, traffic fines, or other costs are incurred. Deposits paid online via Appotapay are refunded to your original card or account through Appotapay; cash deposits are returned in cash. Refund speed depends on your bank (typically 5–15 business days).

5. Vehicle Usage & Restrictions

Vehicles must not be used for illegal purposes, racing, or towing. Smoking is strictly prohibited (Cleaning fee: 2,000,000 VND). Vehicles are provided with a full tank and must be returned full. Vehicles must remain within Vietnam at all times. Taking a vehicle across an international border is not permitted, and any insurance or protection product purchased with the rental ceases to apply outside Vietnam.

6. Insurance & Liability

Every rental includes compulsory third-party civil liability insurance as required by Vietnamese law. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an optional paid extra and is not included in the standard rate. Without it, the Renter is liable for damage up to the value of the vehicle. With CDW, liability is capped at a deductible of USD 1,000, plus reasonable compensation for loss of use while the vehicle is off the road for repair. Full Protection is available as a flat $350 fee for the entire rental, in place of CDW (the two cannot be purchased together). It reduces your deductible to $0 for incidents covered under this agreement, with added protection for glass, mirrors, lights and tyres. Full Protection is a protection plan provided directly by Rocket Car Rentals — it is not an insurance policy purchased from a licensed insurer. Roadside assistance is also an optional paid extra. Standard exclusions apply and cover may be denied in cases including, but not limited to: driving under the influence, traffic law violations, and intentional damage to the vehicle.

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, war).
